Dental Management of Medically Compromised Patients

Presented by: Dr. Sanjukta Mohanta, DDS
Dr. Sanjukta Mohanta is a general dentist at a community health centre in Brampton where she treats patients on publicly-funded dental programs.  She was a clinical and theoretical instructor at the Canadian Academy of Dental Hygiene from 2003-2011. She was the president of the Halton-Peel Dental Association in 2015 and was on the Canadian Dental Association's Future of the Profession Task Force in 2017. She is an active volunteer with the Ontario Dental Association and received the ODA Award of Merit in 2018. She is engaged in promoting community oral health and advocating to improve public dental plans. 
Course Description:
Learn about common medications taken by patients and the dental management of medically compromised patients. 

Learning Objectives:

  1. Be informed about common medications
  2. Recognize which common medications affect oral health
  3. Identify which medications affect dental treatment
  4. Understand what modifications are necessary when treating medically compromised patients
