Tanya has been a registered dental hygienist for 22 years and a member of Halton Peel since she graduated. Passionate about whole body health, she is also a certified mindful eating and health coach, certified tobacco educator, and holistic nutritionist, who volunteers in The Center for Addiction and Mental Health’s TEACH project, where health professionals find education and resources in tobacco addiction and health behavior.  
Course Description:
Has this popped up in your Self Assessment?: "Learn about effective communication techniques to enable me to discuss the relationship of determinants of health with my clients.”  Let's discuss what the social determinants of health are, and how they relate to your dental hygiene client. Review communication techniques that help you understand how the social determinants of health may be affecting your client, and become an "active listening" practitioner.
